Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman Managing Committee Chaudhary Muhammad Zaka Ashraf Friday resigned from his post, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

Zaka Ashraf also resigned as a member of the board of governors.

Zaka Ashraf started his second stint as PCB’s chairman by replacing Najm Sethi with the backing of the Pakistan People’s Party, an important ally of the then PDM-led allied government.

Zaka’s tenure ended on November 5, however, caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar extended his tenure by another three months.

According to sources, Zaka Ashraf has cited a lack of authority as the reason behind his resignation and has sent his resignation to PM Kakar.

Zaka was under criticism for his failure to complete his task of forming the board of governors through elections of the associations.

He was also criticized for his style of managing the cricketing affairs as the Pakistan team saw a huge decline in performance since he took over the role.
