Pakistani firefighters help Afghanistan douse market blaze at Chaman border

What can be described as a friendly gesture towards Afghanistan, at the request of the Afghan government, FC Balochistan (North) on Friday sent all fire brigade vehicles of Chaman inside Afghan territory to extinguish the fire that had erupted at Wesh Mandi, at stone’s throw from the Pak-Afghan border crossing at Chaman, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.  

Efforts were being made to put out the blaze till last reports came in.

The fire came as a great shock for the traders as Japanese goods worth millions of rupees were burnt.  

Despite making hectic efforts, the Afghan government had failed to douse the flames.
