The delegations of the key ruling coalition partners – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) – held a parley at the Prime Minister's Office, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

The PPP delegates Qamar Zaman Kaira, Sherry Rehman and Khurshid Shah showed up at PM while Murad Ali Shah joined the meeting through a video link.

Ahsan Iqbal, Ishaq Dar and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq represented PML-N at the meeting that lasted three hours.

The PPP conveyed its reservations and Ishaq Dar will inform the PM about the PPP's concerns.

Addressing a public rally in Swat last week, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said his party would not vote for the budget unless their concerns were addressed.

He claimed that the budget presented in parliament had very little input from the PPP, especially on the issues of climate change and flood rehabilitation.

“I don’t doubt the intentions of the prime minister, but I would like to request him to hold those people to account who are not fulfilling the promises he made,” Bilawal said, adding: “If PML-N wants PPP to vote on the budget without funds for flood-affected people, this will not happen,” he warned.
