Islamabad court sends AJK's former PM Tanveer to jail on judicial remand

The court sent the former Prime Minister (PM) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Tanveer Ilyas to jail on judicial remand, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Monday.
According to the report, AJK's former premier Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was presented before Judicial Magistrate of Islamabad Mureed Abbas's district court in a case involving the torture on a private mall's security in-charge and the breaking of locks.
During the hearing, former PM Tanveer Ilyas's lawyer informed the court that a settlement had been reached between both parties. In response, Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas stated, "Alright, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas will be sent to judicial custody now. You may file a bail application."
A case was registered against Sardar Tanveer Ilyas at Margalla Police Station in Islamabad for physically abusing the security in-charge of a private mall and breaking the locks of a private property on May 1, 2024.
According to the First Information Report, office 1708 of Centaurus Mall was broken into by an armed group of twenty to twenty-five people, led by Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, who broke the lock with the purpose of taking possession of the building.
However, the watchful security personnel foiled their plan. During this action, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas threatened to assassinate Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Sardar Dr Rashid Ilyas Khan and their associates.
According to the FIR, these people also physically attacked the security guard. When law enforcement officers reached the location, where Sardar Tanveer Ilyas opened a fire at Colonel (retd) Tipu Sultan but he remained safe.
