Maulana Fazlur Rehman elected unopposed JUI Ameer for next five years

The Central General Council of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) unanimously elected Maulana Fazlur Rehman as Ameer and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hydari as General Secretary for the next five years.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, JUI Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman chaired the General Council meeting in which General Council members from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tribal Districts, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir participated.
JUI spokesperson Muhammad Aslam Ghori provided details of the meeting to the media and said a report was presented in the General Council regarding the February 8 general elections from the four provinces and tribal districts.
In the meeting, he said the country's political situation, the Gaza issue, Maulana Fazlur Rehman's visit to Qatar and the upcoming general elections were discussed.
