Punjab govt decides to distribute 5,000 laptops among students within 30 days

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has decided to provide laptops to shining students within 90 days under Chief Minister Laptop and Honhar Scholarship Program, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The students will be given the latest Core i7, 13 generation laptops by the government. 2000 minority students will also be liable to avail this opportunity. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued directives to give laptops to matriculation and FSC position holders. 20,000 students of universities, 14000 students of colleges, 4000 students of industry and agriculture, 2000 students of medical and dental colleges will get laptops. While 32 percent students of South Punjab will also be included in this scheme.
The students will be given 5,000 laptops within 30 days and 35,000 laptops will be distributed by February 20, 2025 under the Chief Minister Laptop Scheme. Moreover, scholarships will also be offered to students of 30,000 government and 10,000 private educational institutions across Punjab. 18,000 female students will get scholarships under the CM Scholarship Program. Full tuition fees of students for four to five years will be paid under Honahar Scholarship. Till now 68,329 applications have been received for scholarship while the verification of 34,290 applications has been completed so far.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, on of the biggest higher education internship program has been completed under which recruitment of 7354 college teacher interns has been completed in government colleges of Punjab.
Secretary Higher Education Dr. Farrukh Naveed while giving a briefing to Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz said that college teacher interns will be given Rs50,000 per month for 8 months. The college teacher interns will perform teaching services in government colleges until completion of academic session by March 31. The Chief Minister congratulated the higher education team for recruiting interns on merit by maintaining transparency. It was further informed in the briefing that transfer posting of 962 teachers of colleges has been completed under the e-transfer policy. The college teachers received their orders after applying online on the portal. The appointment of principals and directors of government colleges will also be undertaken by maintaining transparency criteria.
