92% Motorway travellers now using Mtag
Minister Aleem Khan directs NHA to complete online system on priority basis

Federal Minister for Privatization and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed National Highway Authority (NHA) to complete its online system on highways as soon as possible, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Friday, the federal minister said that 92 percent Motorway users are now using M-tag. He said that state-of-the-art tracking system is already installed on all the main roads of the province. He urged the transporters to avail this facility without any delay.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that a message should be forwarded to every vehicle to pay charges through M-tag.
He further directed that National High Authority should adopt a high-tech system as being used in developed countries. The federal minister directed to enhance and strengthen monitoring on motorways and G.T. roads.
He said that NHA should collaborate with Motorway Police for smooth functioning.
He directed NHA to create a dash which must be updated on daily basis and construct state-on-the art monitoring system as per the standards of Safe City.
The federal minister directed to adopt latest cameras and technology. He lauded NHA efforts to enhance its revenue which will help to strengthen the institution.
He said the effective measures and comprehensive measures should be adopted for smooth functioning of organization.
He said the persons who are using cash instead E-tags on toll plazas should be discouraged. He directed to impose fine in such vehicles.
The federal minister said that we should take measures to make our motorways and highways safe. He asked the NHA to generate revenue sans discipline of motorways. He urged the NHA to enhance revenue without any further delay.
He said that uniform laws should be adopted for those vehicles who wanted to use motorways. He said that all those officials who will bring reforms for betterment of NHA will be awarded honorary certificates.
