Soon after the accident, a charged mob surrounded the young woman, who was then taken into custody by the law-enforcement agencies and was shifted to Bahadurabad police station where SHO Muhammad Naeem said the woman’s name was Natasha Danish.
The woman was later shifted to Jinnah Hospital for a medical examination.
The deceased were identified as Imran Arif and Amina.
Court grants one-day physical remand of woman to police
Later the woman was produced in a court which granted one-day physical remand to the police.
During the hearing, the woman’s lawyer, without presenting a medical certificate, argued that she was mentally ill; so therefore the court was requested to grant her bail.
However, the judge refused to order her release on bail, saying he was not authorized to do so. “If you want to prove that your client is a psychological patient, then submit a medical certificate,” he told the lawyer.
