US praises Pak efforts for hosting OIC's extraordinary session

US Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West called upon Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest, current security situation in Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation opportunities came under discussion during the meeting.
The US envoy heaped praise on Pakistan for playing pivotal part for the cause of peace and holding extraordinary session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Islamabad.
Talking about the instability of Afghanistan, COAS laid stress on global convergence to prevent a humanitarian crisis. The army chief also expressed his gratitude to West for participation in the OIC session.
He visiting dignitary lauded the role played by Pakistan in the Afghan situation and the efforts Islamabad made for effective Pak-Afghan border management, the statement said adding that the US envoy assured the Pak authorities of playing his part for further improvement in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
