Dense fog blanketed the plains of Punjab, prompting the authorities to close several sections of motorways on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the motorways police, Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11) was closed due to fog.
Motorway (M-2) was closed from Lahore to Kot Sarwar. Traffic was suspended on Lahore-Multan Motorway from Faizpur to Samundri.
In Sarai Mughal, the visibility was reduced to a very low level as heavy fog blanketed the city and the suburbs.
People had to face a great deal of inconvenience, for the authorities kept the electricity supply suspended for hours on the pretext of fog.
The motorists were advised by the motorway police to use fog lights while traveling and avoid unnecessary travel.
In Jahanian, the city and its suburbs came under the influence of dense fog, and the visibility was reduced to a few meters.
The fog affected traffic flow, and the people were advised by patrolling police to be careful and use fog lights on vehicles while on road and avoid unnecessary travel.
Train operation was also affected as most of the railway tracks were under the influence of dense fog. Passengers faced difficulties.
In Shujabad, city traffic police advised motorists to strictly follow the traffic rules amid dense fog on roads.
