Chaudhry Nisar to run as independent candidate in NA-53

Former Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has announced that he will contest the upcoming election as an independent candidate from his home constituency of NA-53, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
He will kick off his election campaign with a public meeting at Rajar on December 23 at 2 pm. Rajar is a suburb located 30 kilometres away from Rawalpindi.
Chaudhry Nisar, who has been a loyal member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for decades, has decided to part ways with the party after developing differences with the leadership.
He has said that he will not use the party's symbol or name in his election campaign.
He has also expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in the country and vowed to work for the welfare of the people of his constituency.
