Good news about PIA privatization soon, says minister

Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan on Saturday said that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will be privatized without any liabilities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Aleem Khan was talking to newsmen in Islamabad about the progress made so far in the process fir PIA privatization.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that necessary reforms were being completed on priority basis and the nation will hear “good news” in this regard soon.
The minister said that after these reforms, the privatization process of the national carrier will become more attractive.
He said that resumption of PIA flights operation to Europe will play vital role in the privatization process of the national flag carrier.
Now people start believing that they can travel through PIA for Europe while flights operations for the United Kingdom and the USA will also be started soon.
Abdul Aleem Khan further said that major issues about PIA privatization have already been resolved amicably.
The minister said that the IMF had gave its nod to two important issues regarding the privatization of the PIA. He said that 18 percent sales tax on purchase of new aircraft will be waived and all losses of the PIA will be transferred to a holding company.
