The Government of Punjab (GoP) on Tuesday approved amendments in kite-flying act 2024 and declared kite-flying as nonbailable offence with immediate effect, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the bill passed by the Punjab Assembly, now anyone who found involved in manufacturing, selling and transporting kites will be awarded three years to seven years imprisonment and Rs500,000 to Rs50,00,000 fine will be imposed on him while both punishments will be awarded at the same time.

The government also declared complete ban on preparation, transportation and selling of kites in the province.

Children who will be found involved in kite-flying will have to pay Rs50,000 as fine for first time and Rs100,000 fine if caught flying kite for second time or both punishments will be awarded to them at the same time.
