The Karachi-bound train from Peshawar narrowly escaped a major accident near the Kala bridge due to a truck which was stuck along the railway track, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

According to railway sources, a sand and gravel-loaded truck sank into the ground near the railway line near Kala Pul.

The driver of Khyber Mail stopped the train by applying the emergency brake.

The driver of the train saved Khyber Mail from hitting the truck with the truck buried in the ground along the track.

The sand and gravel truck driver tried to pull out the truck when it collided with the parked Khyber Mail engine.

The engine on the assistant driver's side was slightly damaged after the truck hit the engine.

After an hour of effort, the truck driver succeeded to separate the truck from the engine.

The passengers of Khyber Mail were trapped in the train near the Kala bridge for an hour due to the carelessness and gross negligence of the truck driver.
