Terrorists attacked a police checkpost in the Arando Khwar area of Peshawar on Sunday morning, resulting in the martyrdom of a police official due to their gunfire.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the terrorists fled the scene after the shooting at the police checkpoint on Sunday.

The TV channel reported that the local police had initiated a search operation in the area to find terrorists involved in the attack on the checkpost.

As per the report, the funeral prayer for the martyred police officer will be offered at the police lines.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemns shooting incident

Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi Sunday condemned the shooting incident at the police checkpost in the Arando Khwar area of Peshawar.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to Constable Saeed, who was martyred in the attack.

Minister Naqvi expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of the martyred Constable Saeed. He remarked that Constable Saeed attained the highest rank of martyrdom by sacrificing his life while performing his duty.

The interior minister saluted the sacrifice of Constable Saeed, who laid down his life for the country.

He emphasized that the sacrifices of officers and soldiers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police in the fight against terrorism will always be remembered.

He added that the nation stands united against terrorism and has demonstrated extraordinary resolve at every level.
