Monsoon rains continue to lash different parts of the country as several areas of Punjab, including the provincial capital Lahore, received showers early Sunday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


Besides Lahore, rain, accompanied by strong winds, was reported from Gujranwala, Daska and adjoining cities in the north-east of the province which rid the people of heat and mugginess.


Showers in Karachi turn weather pleasant


On the other hand, the weather turned pleasant in Karachi following heavy rain in some parts of the city yesterday.


According to statistics released by the Met Office, Nazimabad locality of the city received the highest amount of rainfall totaling 37.2 millimeters followed by Keamari where 29.5 millimeters of rain was recorded.


Similarly, Mauripur received 26 millimeters, Korangi 22 millimeters, Quaidabad 12 millimeters, Sharae Faisal seven millimeters, DHA Phase-II 6.5 millimeters, Orangi Town 4.5 millimeters, Malir Halt 3.6 millimeters, Jinnah Terminal 3.4 millimeters, Ibrahim Hyderi three millimeters, University Road 2.4 millimeters, Old Airport 1.7 millimeters and Gulshan-e-Hadeed received one millimeter of rain.        


The weather department, on the other hand, forecast more rains for different parts of the country, including Lahore and Karachi, during the next 24 hours.
