Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar on Tuesday said that President Arif Alvi has returned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) related amendment bill to the House for reconsideration despite the Senate already approved it.
According to the 24New HD TV channel, the federal law minister addressed a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The federal law minister said that some significant amendments have been made to the NAB rules and most of these amendments are the same as those made by the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government during its tenure.
He said though the senate has approved the NAB Amendment Bill and the President of Pakistan has also no objections to the 70 per cent amendments in it but he returned to the House.
Law Minister Azam said they do not want to decide the fate of the people through the retired persons in the NAB.
Earlier, the law minister also said in the senate that the previous government of the PTI used NAB rules against the opposition.
Tarar said the bureaucracy had stopped working due to NAB rules while the institute has not brought a single case to a logical conclusion.
