KP govt imposes anti-narcotics emergency in province

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur has imposed an anti-narcotics emergency in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
In this regard, the provincial government has set up a provincial anti-narcotics task force for counter-narcotics.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will head the 19-member task force.
The Chief Minister's Secretariat issued an official statement in this regard.
Other members of the task force include concerned cabinet members, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of police, Additional Chief Secretary Home, concerned administrative secretaries and others.
It should be remembered that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur had decided to establish a provincial task force in the anti-narcotics meeting chaired by him in recent days.
Addressing the production and supply of drugs in the province, especially the provision of drugs in educational institutions, hostels and prisons is one of the main responsibilities of the task force.
The task force will also monitor the track and trace system to control illegal use of drugs in the name of medical and scientific purposes.
The newly established task force will also monitor issues related to treatment, rehabilitation and social mainstreaming of drug addicts.
The meeting of the task force will be held at least once in a month.
The task force will submit a quarterly report to the Chief Minister on these matters.
