Asking the government to stop victimizing its political opponents, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday congratulated Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on the acceptance of his bail application, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his message, Shehbaz said he was extremely happy that Khursheed, who was the victim of political witch-hunt, had finally won freedom after languishing in jail for years.

PML-N president said that Khursheed was a towering political figure. “I hope he will resume his political activities with full vigour,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal has said that unprecedented price hike has jolted the nation, which will now march on Islamabad to protest against it.

Talking to the media in Lahore, he stressed the need for not making the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) controversial. “I pray for the successful completion of the CPEC. Nine economic zones of the corridor should have been completed by now,” he said and added, “Now the time has come for attracting foreign investment. This is not a matter of like or dislike of the present government, but making Pakistan an attractive place for investment. For that, we need to strengthen our rupee. But sadly, the rupee’s value against the US dollar is dipping every day.”

“However, I have a question for the political parties allied to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government such as Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) that don’t they see Pakistan is going downhill under Prime Minister Imran Khan?” he questioned, and added, “If these parties still keep clinging to the power, they will be equally responsible for the people’s woes.”
