The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Multan on Friday apprehended two imposters posing as FIA officials who had been extorting money from innocent citizens, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The two accused, identified as Muammar Shakeel and Muhammad Madani, had allegedly been posing as FIA personnel.
The FIA's cybercrime wing Multan sprang into action following a complaint from Abdul Jabbar, a concerned citizen from Jalalpur. Acting on Jabbar's application, the FIA conducted a raid that resulted in the successful arrest of both suspects.
It was revealed that the arrested individuals had been masquerading as FIA officials and exploiting their counterfeit authority by issuing fraudulent notices to innocent citizens, demanding money under various pretexts.
Subsequently, the FIA's crime wing registered a case against the imposters, and further legal actions against them have been started.
