Thieves have stolen security cameras of Safe City Authority, installed outside a police station in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The stolen cameras, worth Rs120,000 were installed outside Margalla Police Station while cops remained unaware about the theft of these cameras for two weeks.
On the night of September 2, even though the cameras were switched off, instead of taking action, the police just wrote a report.
“After 15 days of theft of cameras, the Safe City Authority team reached the spot,” sources said.
A case of September 2 theft was registered on September 16 at Margalla Police Station.
However, the issue also raised questions about the activation of 2,700 Safe City cameras installed at different places in the federal capital.
