Sindh speaker also writes letter to ECP, calls for upholding parliamentary sovereignty

Sindh Assembly Speaker Owais Qadir Shah Friday sent a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to uphold parliamentary sovereignty on the matter of reserved seats.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, in a letter addressed to the Election Commission, the Speaker of the Sindh Assembly highlighted the importance of maintaining the sovereignty and freedom of the parliamentary system.
In the letter, the Sindh Speaker urged the election commission to respect parliamentary legislation concerning reserved seats in the assemblies.
The Sindh Assembly Speaker stressed that the amended Election Act is now in effect and that it is the Election Commission’s responsibility to honour this legislation.
Owais Qadir Shah also emphasised the need for the Election Commission to preserve the autonomy of the Sindh Assembly while making its decisions on reserved seats.
