The coronavirus test of Prime Minister Imran Khan, which was taken on Tuesday, came negative on Wednesday.

Prime Minister’s Focal Person on COVID-19 and top trusted physician Dr Faisal Sultan had said yesterday that Prime Minister Imran Khan will undergo coronavirus test as he met with philanthropist Faisal Edhi who later tested positive for COVID-19.

This news was shared by the Sindh Health Department which had earlier conducted his test for the virus. When contacted, the report was confirmed by Faisal Edhi. There were also reports that Faisal Edhi’s son has also been tested positive for coronavirus.

Faisal Edhi had met Prime Minister Imran Khan last week and gave him a cheque of Rs10 million for the Prime Minister’s Coronavirus Relief Fund.

Faisal Edhi, the son of famous social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi, had made headlines some weeks back by saying that they were closing the funeral homes being run by the Edhi Foundation because of the pandemic.

He claimed that many coronavirus patients, who had not been reported officially, were being buried by them and they could not threaten the lives of their staff members. However, Faisal later said in a video message that they were suspected coronavirus patients.
