Khalid Jawed Khan’s appointment as new Attorney General for Pakistan has been notified, two days after the government’s announcement for the new AGP.
The Federal Law Ministry issued the notification on Saturday after the President gave his approval to the appointment recommended by the Prime Minister. Khalid Jawed Khan’s status will be equal to a federal minister.
The federal cabinet first gave its nod to Khalid Jawed’s name in its meeting on Thursday after Anwar Mansoor Khan tendered his resignation as AGP earlier in the day.
Khalid Jawed Khan will represent the state when he will appear before the Supreme Court hearing petitions challenging presidential reference against Justice Qazi Faez Esa.
