The internet services in Pakistan were disrupted after a fault was reported in an international submarine internet cable, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the submarine cable fault was reported on Monday night 400kms off Pakistani coast.
The PTA said the internet service in Pakistan has been impacted particularly the subscribers of Trans World Cable may face difficulties in smooth internet services.
A PTA spokesman further divulged that they were making temporary arrangements to provide bandwidth through SMW5 Cable and also efforts were under way to locate the fault position under the sea.
Earlier on January 13, a fault had also been reported in an international submarine internet cable but alternate measures made to provide uninterrupted service to users.
The PTA then said the fault had been reported in the international submarine cable, SMW4, operated by PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd), in the Indian Ocean.
Another fault that affected the internet speeds in the country was reported in December after which the PTCL started to shift internet traffic to other cables.
