Ministers relinquish right to receive allowances, avail privileges

The federal ministers on Wednesday decided that from today they will not be receiving their allowances as well as availing perks and privileges as part of the government’s austerity drive, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Sources told 24News that in its meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the cabinet also decided that all federal ministers as well as government servants will not travel through business class.  

Besides that, it was also decided that all ministers and government officials will not stay at five star hotels, and that only one dish will be served at official functions.
