President Zardari seeks legal immunity in Thatta water supply reference

President Asif Ali Zardari Thursday sought a legal immunity in National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) Thatta Water Supply Reference against him.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, President Zardari's lawyer Arshad Tabraiz Advocate appeared before the Accountability court Islamabad judge Nasir Javed Rana and filed the application of legal immunity of his client.
President's lawyer Arshad Tabriz argued in the court that that Asif Ali Zardari has presidential immunity now and the case against him cannot be continued.
Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana heard the arguments of the President's lawyer and issued a notice to NAB and postponed the hearing of the case till April 22.
In the case, former secretary Ejaz Ahmad Khan, Ali Akbar Abro, Ejaz Memon, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Majeed, Manahal Majeed, Abdul Nadeem Bhutto and others are also included as accused.
Zardari also files presidential immunity in Park Lane Reference
In another reference of the Park Lane, lawyer of President Asif Ali Zardari has also taken plea in Accountability Court of Islamabad that his client has been elected President of Pakistan and now he has a legal presidential immunity.
His lawyer Arshad Tabriz told the court that the proceedings of the case against the President cannot be continued.
The court asked the lawyer that the case against the remaining accused will not proceed? The lawyer replied that the case can be run against the rest of the accused.
Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana conducted the hearing.
