Of 99 passengers who were onboard the ill-fated PIA plane, 97, including the crew members, had lost their lives in the crash.

Like most of other passengers, Ansar Naqvi was travelling from Lahore to Karachi to spend Eidul Fitr with his family.

Raana Ansar, the wife of Syed Ansar Naqvi, has still not forgotten her late husband.

Talking to 24News TV channel, she said she still could not believe that Ansar Naqvi was no more.

The deceased’s younger son, Shahzeb, said that Ansar was not only a caring father but also a friend.

Similarly, Rishwa, senior journalist’s daughter, also recalled her father’s memories.

Ansar Naqvi’s colleagues and other members of the journalistic community were also all praise for him.

The plane had crashed into a residential neighbourhood of Karachi. The plane had made multiple approaches to land at Karachi Airport before it came down among houses, sparking a rescue operation that lasted into the night.

Flames and plumes of smoke were sent into the air as the plane came down, its wings slicing through rooftops before crashing onto a street.

Residents were the first to search through debris for survivors, with witnesses reporting the cries of a man hanging from the plane's emergency exit door.

PIA had said air traffic control lost contact with the plane travelling from Lahore to Karachi just after 2:30 pm (0930 GMT).
