Allama Dr Raghib Naeemi appointed as Chairman of Islamic Ideological Council

The federal government of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) appointed Allama Dr Ragheeb Hussain Naimi as the Chairman of the Islamic Ideological Council (IIC) on Tuesday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Allama Dr Raghab Hussain Naeemi is also the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Naeemi and Chairman of the Muttahida Ulema Board Punjab.
Recently, he was awarded "Sitara-i-Imtiaz" (Star of Excellence) by President Asif Ali Zardari on the Pakistan Day on March 23, 2024.
Allama Dr Raghib Hussain Naeemi is a graduate of Government College Lahore, a gold medalists in master degree in Arabic from Punjab University, and Ph.D.
The Ministry of Law and Justice has issued the appointment notification of Allama Dr Raghab Hussain Naeemi as the chairamn of the ICC on Tuesday.
Jamia Naeemia Lahore is an Islamic University in Lahore associated with the Sunni Barelvi movement. Founded by Mufti Muhammad Husain Naeemi, father of Sarfraz Ahmed Naeemi on 11 November 1980. It serves as the largest Sunni institution for the Barelvi movement in Pakistan.
This Institute was highlighted on the global media when it was targeted by a suicide bombing in which its principal Allama Sarfraz Ahmed Naeemi was marytred on June 12, 2009.
According to media reports, the attack was in retaliation of a Fatwa (verdict) issued by the Jamia Naeemia Lahore against the Taliban and denounced the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan's (TTP) terrorist actions and ideologies as unislamic.
