Some women forced their way into a mosque at Sanda in Lahore and beat up the prayer leader, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to footage obtained from the CCTV camera installed in the vicinity of Jamia Mosque Ayesha Siddiqa, women entered the mosque and started slapping the prayer leader named Qari Furqan Rizvi.

Police said that soon after hearing the imam’s hue and cry, residents of the area rushed to the mosque and tried to save him.

Giving further details, the police said that giving the mosque’s shops on rent was the bone of contention.

And when the prayer leader asked Shahbaz Ghumman and Nisar Tunda to vacate the shops, the latter instead of vacating them sent their women to teach the imam a lesson.

Sanda police said that the victim had lodged a complaint and that they were investigating the matter before taking action against the women as per the laws.
