The jurisdiction of the Punjab Public Service Commission regarding failing government officers in interviews that are held to regularize their services has been challenged in the Lahore High Court, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
The government lawyer requested the court to grant him time to submit reply.
Justice Shahid Karim on Tuesday heard the petition filed by Dr Atiqur Rehman and others.
Hafiz Tahir Naseem Advocate appeared on behalf of the petitioners.
The lawyer told the court that the petitioners have been working on temporary basis in the capacity of specialist doctors since 2016.
He said as per the government policy, the services of his clients who are doctors have not been regularized. He said that his clients gave interviews for the regularization of their jobs but the PPSC while exceeding its authority failed them in the interviews.
The lawyer contended that the PPSC does not have the jurisdiction to fail the regular employees.
The petition requested the court to void the order of the PPSC failing regular employees in interviews.
