Islamabad Police on Saturday registered an FIR against seven PTI leaders, including Senator Faisal Javed, chiefly under the Anti-Terrorism Act, for causing damage to public and private properties during their protest in Faizabad against the disqualification of former prime minister and their party Chairman Imran Khan by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Toshakhana case yesterday (Friday, October 21, 2022), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Other PTI leaders, who were booked at I-9 police station of the federal capital, included Amir Kiani, Wamiq Qayyum Abbasi and Raja Rashid.
Total nine sections were inserted in the FIR, including those related to attempted murder, resorting to violence and interfering in official duty.
The text of the FIR read that the protestors had attacked the personnel of law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) at the instigation of the PTI’s high-command. “Resultantly several police and FC personnel were injured,” it added.
Soon after registration of the FIR, police started conducting raids to arrest those nominated in it.
