Dengue is on the loose again in Pakistan as the number of cases has seen a rapid increase in many cities including Islamabad and Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Hundreds of new cases were being reported in Lahore, the federal capital and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities everyday.
In Lahore, 126 new cases of dengue were reported on Wednesday taking the tally to 623.
Currently, 19 patients with dengue are admitted in Lahore’s different hospitals including three each in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Mayo Hospital; four each in Fatima Memorial Hospital and Services Hospital, one each in Hamid Latif Hospital, EverCare Hospital, Nawaz Sharif Hospital, Children Hospital and University of Lahore Teaching Hospital.

Health authorities checked 7,130 in-door places in Lahore to detect the dengue larva.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over 274 cases were reported. In Peshawar, 274 new cases of dengue were reported including 29 new cases in Hayatabad Medical and Khyber Teaching Hospital.
Islamabad District Health Officer (DHO) said that 31 citizens fell prey to the dengue in the last two days including 17 new cases in the last 24 hours. He said that two patients also lost their fight against dengue.
“So far 67 people were reported in rural areas of Islamabad while 27 cases were reported from urban areas of the capital,” said Islamabad DHO.
