The Additional District Justice of Peace and Session Judge Jahanian Tariq Saleem Chohan ordered to file a case against Pakistan Post Office (PPO) staff for harassing a citizen and refusing to accept Pakistani currency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the details, the Jahanian resident Shafiq-ur-Rahman Anjum’s application said that he went to the post office to submit his electricity bill. 

He was waiting for his turn in a long queue for hours and when finally it was his turn, the cashier refused to submit his bill as he had the amount in Rs100 notes majorly.

On seeing the Rs100 currency notes, the cashier said that change money is not accepted here and he needs to get bigger currency notes to which Shafiq replied that this is also the currency of Pakistan. His reply infuriated the cashier and they all ganged up against him, harassed him and also threatened him with worse consequences throwing him out of the office.

The citizen filed a petition for filing a case against the post office staff.

The Session Judge while ordering for filing of the case, instructed the Station Head Officer (SHO) of the Jahanian station that justice be provided to the citizen and also an FIR be filed against the staff of the Pakistan Post Office Jahanian
