Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that PTI was given NOC to hold a rally in Lahore but it failed to mobilise masses which shows that people have no interest in its politics of chaos and unrests, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to media in DGP office along with Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Islamabad Lahore Motorway and GT Road were open, PTI workers should question why Gandapur failed to reach Lahore Jalsa in time?. She said a man who leaves Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at 2pm can reach at 4pm. She said that entire PTI leadership knew that people will not come out on street therefore majority of PTI leadership failed to reach the rally site.
According to PTI data, only 3500 chairs were installed but on social media PTI workers and leaders shared old pictures and soon they were exposed. Punjab Senior Minister paid tribute to CM Maryam Nawaz who allowed PTI to hold power show. She asked Gandapur to compete with Punjab government in development and welfare projects.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb criticized for its inability to draw a large crowd ahead of its scheduled rally.
Earlier, using the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Aurangzeb remarked that despite the rally's scheduled start time approaching, PTI had yet to fill even three dozen chairs.
In her statement, Aurangzeb sarcastically referred to PTI's claims of revolution and popularity, describing the empty chairs as a "pathetic sight." She accused the party of attempting to mislead its supporters by sharing outdated and manipulated videos of previous rallies on social media. According to Aurangzeb, this was a failed effort to create a false narrative of mass support.
The senior minister went on to claim that PTI had been rejected by Punjab and is now trying to stage what she termed as an "anarchic circus" with the help of government employees and machinery from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). She highlighted the use of KP's public resources, including rescue vehicles, ambulances, and cranes, to create political chaos in Punjab, calling it a reflection of PTI's true nature. Aurangzeb also shared her party’s response, stating that the "real scenes" from the ground were being released by the authorities to dispel any doubts. "Welcome to Lahore," she said, in a pointed remark aimed at PTI supporters.
