Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Faisal Sabzwari has announced that all charges of the containers stuck at Karachi Port and Port Qasim have been waived in order to facilitate the importers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was addressing the media in Karachi on Monday.
He said that government deliberated on the issue of containers stuck at ports. “We have been discussing the matter with stakeholders for the last several days,” he added.
The minister said that shipping lines are not closing their operation in the country. He asserted that Pakistan would not go bankrupt. He said in order to solve shipping lines problems, containers are being moved to other places free of cost.
