The chief election commissioner (CEC) Monday told the delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that the National Assembly speaker had not sent a letter for de-notifying more MNAs of their party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“If the Speaker asks for de-notifying more PTI MNAs, we will consider your request,” the CEC told the PTI delegation.
The PTI leaders informed the CEC of their concerns regarding the caretaker Punjab chief minister.
“The caretaker governments have been bound by the law. If they do anything unconstitutional, we will take action. No one needs to worry about the caretaker chief minister,” the CEC said.
The PTI delegation also inquired the CEC about the date of provincial assembly elections.
“This week, there will be a progress regarding the election of provincial assemblies,” the CEC told the PTI delegation.
