It was designer’s dress, not her's: Iqra Aziz on Saboor Aly’s wedding attire controversy

Famous Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz has finally addressed the controversy associating her reportedly wearing another popular actress Saboor Aly's wedding outfit for her latest show, ‘Mannat Murad’ but not with repentance but in ‘unapologetic’ manners. She also affirmed that she was Inspired by Saboor Aly’s bridal look.

Iqra Aziz has been seen in a candid interview session with her beloved husband Yasir Hussain during a car ride during which she has submitted her words regarding the topic in hand.

In case the readers are less aware, Iqra Aziz lately wore a bridal wear that looked like famous star Saboor Aly’s wedding outfit which resultant to hurt Saboor’s sentiments as it probably belonged to her late mother whereas she also expressed disappointment over the ‘blatant’ imitation of her bridal wear at that time through a large note.

However, in the latest turns of events, Iqra Aziz, who at that time never decided to address the issue, came into the scene discussing the issue in quite detail at the husband's YouTube show known as 'Pick And Drop.'

“Actually, we wanted a traditional dress because it was our director’s demand. We didn’t find any traditional dress even after thorough searching. My director shared this picture with me, and after searching, I found out that it was by Faiza Saqlain (designer) We approached her. I requested her to change the shirt because I didn’t want that exactly the same. So, I decided to change the shirt and kept the ‘dupatta’ and ‘gharara’ the same because we had to keep them similar as it was necessary. We also kept the jewelry simple and traditional. I designed the whole look. I will not say that I copied her but I was truly inspired by her look because she was looking so beautiful and I wanted to look as gorgeous as her. I personally felt that Mannat (character) should look like that. I thought that I should not inform anybody to take inspiration, also, it was technically not her dress, I took it from the designer. I didn’t know it would become a big issue, otherwise, I would have asked her because I am a people pleaser. I think this should not be an issue at all, and in the future, if we meet, we should not even talk about it, we should skip it and move on and I feel bad about it, if she felt sad at that time but I am not apologetic.”
