Another missing person returns home on IHC order

Yet another missing person has returned home courtesy an order given by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi to recover the man, who had gone missing from within the limits of Sangjani police station, within three days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Following Samiullah’s return, the petition filed for his recovery was withdrawn on Tuesday.  

Justice Arbab Tahir heard the case in place of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, who was on leave.

Justice Kayani had on Friday warned the Islamabad IGP of registration of an FIR against him in case he failed to trace Samiullah within three days.

During the hearing of the petition, the court inquired about the progress made in the case so far, and asked the police whether they had examined the CCTV footage.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court that the situation was not clear even after having examined the footage obtained from the Safe City cameras.

However, CCTV cameras installed nearby identified a vehicle that was apparently used by the kidnappers and was seen in the Red Zone, he informed.
