During a heated budget discussion in the National Assembly, Ali Muhammad Khan, a prominent member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sunday made impassioned comments about democracy, unity, and accountability.

"I want to place the case of democracy before this House," Khan began, emphasizing the importance of representation. "Every province and every city is represented in this house," he said, calling for mutual respect and attentive listening among members. "I ask all the members present in the House to listen to themselves but also listen to others."

Khan acknowledged past mistakes on all sides. "One mistake happened here, another mistake happened there, which should not have happened," he remarked. He invoked a solemn pledge, "Under the names of Allah, we pledge that we will be the guardians of this holy land more than our mother."

Expressing optimism, Khan declared, "Pakistan will become a superpower."

However, he criticized the performance of successive governments, stating, "Whatever government comes, it does not do the work."

Khan also aligned himself with the concerns raised by PPP's Shazia Marri. "I agree with everything Shazia Marri said," he stated, highlighting a bipartisan acknowledgement of issues.

Khan underscored the indispensable role of the military and security agencies. "Without the army and security agencies, you are nothing," he asserted, emphasizing their critical importance to national security.

Khan questioned the fate of past leaders chosen by the people. "These people choose, but why is the one who is chosen by the people being pushed to the wall? These people also chose Liaquat Ali Khan, why was he being pushed to the wall?"

He made a significant demand regarding the unresolved assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. "The real face of Benazir Bhutto's killers should be shown to the nation," he urged, calling for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate her murder.
