Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has submitted a written reply to the National Accountability Bureau, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

Denying any wrongdoing, the former prime minister rejected corruption charges as ‘fabricated, baseless and malicious’

NAB launched an investigaton against ex-PM Imran Khan, his spouse Bushra Bibi and others for the alleged gain of hundreds of canals of land in the name of Al Qadir University Trust costing 190 million pounds to the national exchequer.

In the written reply, Imran stated: “It is clear that NAB that the basis of these allegations is the approval of the confidential agreement by the federal cabinet in December 2019. He added the amount of 190 million pounds is in the Supreme Court account and no personal benefit was taken. 

He continued: “I was not personally part of the agreement between the NCA and Malik Riaz so I have no information about it.

“The allegations of corruption by NAB are fabricated, baseless and malicious. Neither I nor my wife got any financial benefit from any land nor other sources as trustees.

 “The cabinet unanimously approved the confidentiality agreement in accordance with the law. I have informed about my objections in the previous reply. All the documents available have been submitted to NAB 

“NAB inquiry report was received on May 9 after my illegal arrest which remained in the police lines. A copy of the inquiry report is requested to be delivered at my Zaman Park residence."
