PM Shehbaz reaches Abu Dhabi on day-long visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday arrived in Abu Dhabi on a day-long visit of United Arab Emirates (UAE) to meet the country’s leadership and interact with the business community, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“Just arrived in the UAE on a short but important visit. Looking forward to a fruitful exchange of views with the UAE leadership with a view to deepen the historic and brotherly Pak-UAE ties,” the prime minister wrote on X as he arrived here on his maiden visit after assuming the office.
He was warmly received by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court of UAE. Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, UAE envoy in Islamabad Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi and senior Pakistani and UAE officers were also present.
Besides meeting with the UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he will also interact with the IT-related businessmen and investors of Pakistan and the UAE.
Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising key ministers of his cabinet embarked on the UAE visit.
It is first visit of PM Shehbaz to the UAE since his taking office as prime minister after February 8 general elections. His cabinet members including Khawaja Asif, Jam Kamal, Attaullah Tarar, and Ishaq Dar accompanied him on the visit.
PM Shehbaz is scheduled to meet UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. Additionally, he will engage in discussions with leaders of the Emirati business community and financial institutions, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations, trade and investment.
“The two leaders will discuss bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UAE with special focus on trade and investment. Prime Minister Sharif is also likely to hold meetings with other Emirati dignitaries, businesspersons, and heads of financial institutions,” Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press statement issued in Islamabad.
Pakistan and the UAE have long-standing fraternal relations deep rooted in religio-cultural affinity. Frequent high-level exchanges form a distinguishing feature of brotherly ties between the two countries.
“The Prime Minister’s visit marks an important step towards further deepening multifaceted bilateral collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE,” it was further added.
