While hearing the PTI petition seeking permission for its rally to pass through Islamabad and allow Imran Khan’s helicopter to land at Parade Ground, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has snubbed the PTI lawyer remarking that it is administration’s job and he can’t order the administration not to do their bit if they are doing it according to the law, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The IHC chief justice was hearing the PTI petition on Wednesday.
During hearing, an interesting debate was held between the PTI lawyer and the chief justice.
The lawyer said that the PTI gave a call for public rally in Rawalpindi on November 26.
On this, CJ Farooq said, “You (PTI lawyer) want me to order the administration to allow the PTI rally. But I can’t do this as it is administration’s job.”
Then the chief justice inquired of the lawyer whether the party’s request to the administration regarding holding of the rally was not rejected as yet.
The lawyer said that the PTI had also requested the administration earlier to allow its rally in Rawat and asked permission to land PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s helicopter in Islamabad.
Expressing his bewilderment, the chief justice asked the lawyer what the high court could do in this regard. “The high court can’t provide helipad services,” he remarked.
The PTI lawyer contended that the court could direct the administration to take decision on our application according to the law.
On this, the CJ remarked the administration would obviously decide the case as per the law.
After saying this, the court adjourned the hearing.
