President appoints new Acting Vice-Chancellor of Urdu University

Dr Rubina Mushtaq has been appointed as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences and Technology (FUUAST) by President Dr Arif Alvi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
The appointment was made during a meeting of the Urdu University Senate held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the President.
Dr. Mushtaq is a former Dean of the Faculty of Science and Chairperson of the Zoology Department at FUUAST.
She has also served as the Acting Registrar for the past year and was previously appointed as the Acting Vice-Chancellor in 2022. She will take charge of her new position on Thursday.
The post of Vice-Chancellor has been vacant since the suspension of Dr. Muhammad Ziauddin by the Federal Department of Education and Vocational Training, which has issued the notification of Dr. Mushtaq's appointment.
