Renowned Pakistani Qawwal Sher Miandad Khan and his son were injured after he resisted a robbery attempt on the way to his home in Faisalabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the police, Sher Miandad was stopped by robbers while he was returning from the Mandranwala Darbar. When he put up resistance, the dacoits opened fire at him.

Later, the robbers fled the scene while taking away mobile phones and cash worth Rs0.2 million.

After the incident, Sher Miandad reached DHQ Hospital at 2.50 am where doctors have declared him out of danger. Doctors treated him for bullet wound in the chest which slightly affected his lungs. His son received a bullet at his right hand.

After taking discharge slip from the hospital, the father-son duo left for Lahore.

Sher Miandad was born in Pakpattan and started a qawwali group in 1996. His grandfather Din Mohammad Qawwal was famous for qawwali across the Subcontinent.
