Sindh govt gives approval for operation against dacoits in Kacha area

Sindh government has given the Pakistan Army, Rangers and police approval to make a strategy for launching an operation against dacoits in the Kacha area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

This was decided in the 28th Apex Committee’s meeting that was presided over by Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir.

Giving the briefing to the meeting about the law and order situation, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh said that 220 incidents of kidnapping for ransom occurred while 210 abducted persons belonging to different areas were recovered.

The Sindh Chief Minister also gave approval to Rangers and police to start work on the bridge from Ghotki to Kashmore.

While briefing the meeting, the Corps Commander said that the crackdown against arms smuggling is continued and a huge quantity of military-grade weapons has been recovered from Ghotki.

He said that a strategic operation has been started in Sindh against dacoits and to start the operation against dacoits, the military would provide the latest weapons.

In the meeting, satisfaction has also been expressed over the decrease in murder cases this year.

DG Rangers gave a briefing to the meeting regarding the actions against illegal hydrants, on which the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh instructed the CEO of Water Corporation to tighten the perimeter around the water thieves.

Provincial Ministers Brigadier (Retd) Haris Nawaz, Umar Soomro, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, Chief Secretary Dr Fakhar Alam, Advocate Hasan Akbar, DG Rangers Major General Azhar Waqas, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Hasan Naqvi, Home Secretary Iqbal Memon, IG Police Rifat Mukhtar, provincial heads of sensitive institutions and others were also present in the meeting.
