Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) selection committee has unveiled a 20-member squad for the upcoming Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.


The tournament is scheduled to take place from 4 May to 19 in Malaysia.


Pakistani contingent will be led by the seasoned veteran Muhammad Abdullah.  


The 20-member squad: Muhammad Abdullah (Captain), Muhammad Murtaza Yaqub (Vice-Captain), Abdullah Ishtiaq Khan, Saad Shafiq Ali Khan, Ehtesham Aslam, Saad Shafiq Ali Khan, Ehtesham Aslam, Muhammad Murtaza Yaqub (Vice-Captain), Umar Mustafa, Arbaaz Ayaz, Samiullah, Arshad Liaquat, Abdul Rehman, Abdul Wahab, Muhammad Arsalan, Abdul Qayyum, Bilal Akram, Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, Sikandar Ali Zakir, Taimur Javed Khan, Owais Arshad and Abdul Wajid.


The coaching panel, led by the illustrious Olympian Shahnaz Sheikh, boasts a wealth of experience.


Supported by seasoned coaches like Ayaz Mehmood and Waseem Firoz, the team is well-equipped for strategic brilliance and tactical finesse.


 The team is slated to depart for Malaysia on May 2, where they will engage in preparatory sessions ahead of their debut match against Mirban team Malaysia on May 4.
