Over 180 students of government primary school for boys in Razar tehsil of Sawabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa risk their lives as they either have to sit under scorching heat or inside the damaged rented building to attend their classes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The school building is rented, comprising of two rooms and a veranda, its condition is dilapidated and walls are cracked causing the risk of collapsing at any time.
Moreover, parents and locals are dismayed and feel helpless in this regard.
According to locals, government vows to improve the infrastructure of schools but with time they turned deaf ears from their promises. They also told that they requested the education minister and DPO several times to allot land for the building but in vain.
Despite their persistent demand for separate and decent buildings for schools, concerned authorities did not allot any land for schools. They further added that although there is another school that is very far from their area and parents can’t afford to send their children so far.
Provincial Education Minister Shehryar Khan Tarkai belongs to this district; MNA Usman Tarkai and MPA Usman Tarkai are also from the same district. In spite of that, it is disappointing to see that the tehsil is deprived of the basic rights of education, and infrastructure and is considered to be the least developed region in the educational sector.
