In a significant move towards sustainability, Advocate General Punjab Khalid Ishaq has approved a significant reduction in the petrol allowance for the official vehicles of the Advocate General Office. This laudable decision comes amidst rising concerns about energy consumption and environmental conservation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to the newly-issued notification:

  • The monthly petrol allowance for 1800cc vehicles has seen a cutback from 500 litres to 300 litres.
  • Vehicles with a capacity of 1299cc, including the Toyota Corolla, will now be allocated 200 litres, marking a decrease from the previous 300 litres.
  • For the Suzuki Alto 970cc model, the petrol limit has been halved, dropping from 200 litres to just 100 litres.
  • Lastly, another category of 1299cc vehicles will have their monthly fuel allowance decreased from 120 litres to 100 litres.

It is evident that this policy revision aims to encourage a more eco-friendly approach and to potentially save significant public funds in the long run. Such administrative choices set a precedent for other departments and public offices to follow, emphasising the importance of sustainable practices in government operations.

By adjusting these fuel allowances, the Advocate General's Office not only displays a keen sense of fiscal responsibility but also sends a clear message about prioritizing environmental concerns. The decision is expected to be met with broad appreciation, considering the increasing emphasis on sustainability and responsible governance.
