Pakistani mountaineers Muhammad Ali Sadpara and his son Sajid Ali are going to make history as both of them are on K2, known as the “killer mountain”, without supplementary oxygen targeting to climb the world’s second tallest mountain, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

In a tweet, Saadpara said, “On Monday, January 25, the sun will rise with another day of honour for Pakistan when I and my son Sajid Ali will make Pakistan famous in the world by climbing the mountain oxygen-free in cold weather.”
Both father and son vowed to achieve their target which is considered to be one of the coveted achievements in mountaineering.
Earlier Muhammad Ali Sadpara said, “Pakistani climbers can make history too if they get the support of the sponsors that foreign climbers have.”
“Alhamdulillah I am still on K2 with my son with limited resources and limited technology. Soon you will receive the good news,” he tweeted.

It is pertinent to note that, 10-memebr Nepali Sherpas achieved the first winter ascent of K2, the world’s second tallest mountain. The team later met with COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa and President Arif Alvi who appreciated their courage and efforts.
K2 was first climbed 66 years ago by Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli.
